Bra, the centre of the Slow Food movement, is a hilltop town dominating the entry to the Roero-Langhe region. Every odd-numbered year it holds a wonderful cheese festival featuring the specialty cheeses of Piemonte. Bra features many historic buildings and museums, as well as many wonderful restaurants, one of which hosts a great meal on their outdoor patio during the cheese festival. Their cuisine is a contemporary take on the traditional regional cuisine with hints of a Jewish influence that reflects the prosperous Jewish community that once was a part of the region.
